Over time game theory lost touch with reality, undermining its scientific relevance. The project aims to explore why game theory has created these illusions and how its concepts can be revised in order to achieve a closer match with reality.

The nature and level of advice-taking in human societies is unmatched in the animal world. We developed a paradigm to investigate how people combine individual learning with advice. Having begun to investigate the neurobiological basis of following advice, we investigate the adaptive value of more complex social learning and decision-making mechanisms and their neurobiological implication in an interdisciplinary cooperation between theoretical neurobiologists and cognitive neuroscientists.
